Fab: Q&A With Helena Rohner
•January 6, 2012 • Leave a CommentAcclaimed Spanish sculptor Helena Rohner began designing handmade ceramic jewelry 15 years ago after a transformative trip to Florence, Italy. Since her not-so-humble beginnings crafting baubles for Barneys New York, Rohner has applied her artistic prowess to a wide array of genres—from kitchenware to ornaments to jewelry to the USB necklaces on sale today.

We had the chance to chat with Rohner at her home in Madrid (okay, we emailed her at home in Madrid and daydreamed we were there) about color, texture, and where she finds inspiration.

STEP 1: DO A SHOT.
No, we don’t mean the hair o’ the dog. We’re talking about an energy boosting drink. Some people swear by Gatorade, but we prefer EBOOST’s elixirs. Packed with vitamins and minerals, the healthy vitamin tabs and energy drinks amp up your immune system and replace those waning electrolytes.
STEP 2: CHOMP DOWN ON SOME BURNT TOAST AND YOUR FAVORITE FATTY SNACK.
It’s said that the carbon in burnt toast helps to filter the nasty impurities swirling around in your gut, while also replacing low blood sugar. Top it with a fatty protein –bacon, chorizo, or your favored indulgence which will help to rev up your brain’s neurotransmitters, and alleviate some of your nagging hangover symptoms.
STEP 3: REACH FOR THE OL’ STANDBYS.
Aspirin and water. Swallow those miracle pills and chug as much H2O as you can muster. A little hydration and painkiller is the best way to help you navigate the bumpy road back to recovery.
STEP 4: PLUG IN AND TUNE OUT.
You don’t want to chat and we understand. Put on some noise-cancelling headphones and tune into your favorite, soothing Coldplay ballad. You’ll be back to normal in no time.
